The quick version:
SkinBerry is made from scratch for developing skin, ages 8 to 18. That in-between stage plays by its own rules, a barrier that's still maturing, hydration that dips, and oil that shows up around 14, so we built formulas for exactly that. Every one is plant-powered, fragrance-free, and centered on our Signature Berry Blend™ of eight antioxidant-rich berries, basically feeding your skin berries, with none of the adult anti-aging actives young skin doesn't need. The full regimen went through an independent safety-in-use study of 37 kids aged 8 to 16, where it was well tolerated under the conditions of the study. And it's all CLEAN GLOW VERIFIED™: dermatologist and pediatrician tested, and fragrance-free.

If you've arrived here wondering what makes SkinBerry different from the skincare already on the shelf, here's the scoop, and what building from scratch actually means for what's inside every bottle.
Why tween skin needs its own skincare
Tween and teen skin is its own distinct stage. In the years between 8 and 18, the skin barrier is still maturing, hydration tends to run lower than in adults, and oil production stays quiet until it climbs toward adult levels around age 14. Pediatric research is clear that young skin is biologically different from adult skin, and that products designed for adult concerns can irritate a barrier that's still finding its footing (AAP).
Most of what a young person could reach for was designed for a different job. Adult skincare is engineered around adult goals like fine lines, deep exfoliation, and anti-aging correction, using actives that developing skin doesn't need. So SkinBerry started somewhere else entirely: with the biology of skin between 8 and 18, and a blank page. That's what building from scratch means, beginning with the skin the products are actually for and formulating up from there.
What "Made For Growing, Glowing Skin" means
Every SkinBerry product starts with a simple promise with real substance behind it: each formula is developed specifically for skin that's actively changing, gentle enough for the youngest users while genuinely effective for teens.
In practice, that shapes every decision. It means leaving out the anti-aging actives and harsh ingredients that suit adult routines but not young skin. It means leading with gentle, hydrating, protective ingredients that support a maturing barrier. And it means holding every formula to a standard a parent can trust and a tween can love using.
How SkinBerry's clean formulas are built from scratch
Formulating from scratch is slower and more deliberate, and it shows up in the small choices. The philosophy is plant-powered and uncompromisingly clean, which meant sourcing gentle, naturally derived ingredients for jobs the industry often hands to cheaper, harsher ones.
The Bubble Berry Foaming Cleanser is a good example. Its soft foam comes from coconut-derived surfactants, Coco-Glucoside and Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, mild cleansing agents built from coconut and plant sugars and amino acids, chosen for being kind to sensitive, developing skin. The Glow Berry Moisturizing Gel Cream is built around olive-derived squalane, an emollient that mirrors skin's own oils, alongside a plant-based alternative to silicone made from sugarcane. The Berry Boost Jelly Hydration Mask layers hyaluronic acid, plant-sugar humectants, and ectoin, a naturally derived molecule that soothes and helps defend the barrier.
At the core of all of it is the Signature Berry Blend™, the foundation every SkinBerry formula is built around.
Why berries? Inside the Signature Berry Blend
If one ingredient sits at the foundation of every SkinBerry formula, it's the berries. Our Signature Berry Blend™ is at the core of the formulation philosophy, the starting point every formula is built around.
We chose berries because they deliver the ideal balance of antioxidant protection and barrier support for developing skin. Naturally rich in flavonoids, vitamin C, and humectants, our Signature Berry Blend™ helps neutralize free radicals, soothe sensitivity, and provide lightweight hydration, keeping skin calm, balanced, and resilient.
Our Signature Berry Blend™ is made up of two carefully curated berry groups:
- Wild Australian Super Berries: These rare Australian berries were chosen for their remarkable antioxidant density: Riberry, Muntries, and Tasmanian pepperberry.
- Berry Powerhouses: Five more berry powerhouses commonly known for their antioxidant support: bilberry, elderberry, blackberry, raspberry, and strawberry.
Together they make the whole idea easy to understand in a single line: it's like feeding your skin berries.
Tween skincare that wins over parents and kids
A product for this age has two people to satisfy, and building from scratch was what let SkinBerry do right by both. Parents want reassurance: clean formulas, real testing, and ingredients they can feel good about handing over. Tweens want something that feels grown-up and genuinely fun, with textures worth looking forward to and packaging worth keeping on the shelf.
SkinBerry was designed to meet both at once. The same formula that earns a parent's trust through gentle ingredients and third-party testing is the one a kid reaches for because the foam blooms, the gel-cream melts, and the mask has a cool, satisfying bounce. That dual mandate, safe enough for a parent to approve and joyful enough for a tween to choose, shaped the brief from the very first ingredient. It's a balance that building from the ground up made possible.
The clinical safety testing behind SkinBerry
Building from scratch only matters if the result holds up, so SkinBerry put the full regimen through an independent clinical safety-in-use study. Thirty-seven children aged 8 to 16 used the cleanser, moisturizer, and mask daily for two weeks, under the oversight of an Institutional Review Board and Good Clinical Practice standards. A physician board-certified in both dermatology and pediatrics examined their skin in person at the start and again at the end.
The outcome was clean across the board: no adverse events were reported, and no clinically meaningful changes in redness or dryness. The regimen was well tolerated under the conditions of the study. That study is the substance behind the CLEAN GLOW VERIFIED™ standard every SkinBerry product carries: dermatologist and pediatrician tested, fragrance-free, and formulated for use from age 8.
Why building tween skincare from scratch was worth it
Diluting an adult formula would have been faster. Building from scratch took longer, cost more, and meant sweating details that are easy to skip. It was worth it because developing skin deserves products made for the stage it's actually in, and because a young person's first experience of skincare should feel like care, joy, and discovery, never correction.
That's the idea behind every Glow Ritual: skincare made for growing, glowing skin, from the biology up. It's why SkinBerry exists, and it's in every bottle by design.
A note from our founder
I built SkinBerry as a parent first. I started noticing my young daughter perched at the mirror, sampling my skincare like she was discovering a new world. In a way, she was. At her age, skincare is its own kind of magic: the textures, the rituals, a routine that feels like a moment entirely your own.
I'd spent more than 12 years as an executive inside leading beauty brands, so I knew which ingredients have no business on tween skin: harsh actives, fragrance, anti-aging compounds made for adult skin. Tween skin is more delicate, more reactive, and still developing.
We wanted something uncompromisingly clean, beautiful enough for her shelf, and thoughtful enough to feel good handing over. We couldn't find it, so we built it from scratch, with my daughter testing textures alongside me. What began as research became a ritual we shared.
I have two children, so this was about building exactly what I'd want for them, held to the highest safety standards.

Frequently asked questions: SkinBerry and tween skincare
Why was SkinBerry built from scratch instead of adapting adult skincare?
Because tween and teen skin is a distinct developmental stage. The barrier is still maturing, hydration runs lower, and oil production shifts with age, and adult skincare is designed around adult concerns like anti-aging. SkinBerry formulates specifically for skin between ages 8 and 18, using gentle, protective ingredients suited to that stage (AAP).
What does "Made for Growing, Glowing Skin" mean?
It's SkinBerry's term for a formula developed from the ground up for skin that's actively changing, gentle enough for young users and effective for teens. It means leaving out adult anti-aging actives and leading with gentle, hydrating, plant-powered ingredients.
What makes SkinBerry different from other skincare?
Every formula is made specifically for developing skin, plant-powered, fragrance-free, and centered on the Signature Berry Blend™ of eight antioxidant-rich berries.
